The founders of Apair shoes
Lise Freiesleben Hjort and Birgitte Holten launched the first Apair shoe collection in 2004. Their inspiration came mainly from their hometown Copenhagen in Denmark, and the streets of Italy. Both have worked in fashion for many years and have a perfect eye for what is moving in the fashion industry, and at the same time the dare to be different and you all seem to love that.
They design the collections in close collaboration with the most talented artisans in Italy, from the same factories as high-end brands like Prada and Dior, and is focusing on insuring highest quality and comfortability.
The calf leather
We only choose calf leather from Italian farmers that are using the rest of the calf for dinner later. The animals have lived a joyful life on farms with the highest standards and access to large open fields to increase their life quality and assure that their skin is beautiful and healthy, and we believe that you can see the joyful life the calf has lived on the quality leather.
Organic and clean treatment
In the production of the shoes only the cleanest possible way of handling the leather is used, which is called a vegan treatment, thereby we insure the environment is protected, and the leather is treated in a way that makes the standard of the leather in highest quality that last a lifetime.
